Tottenham Hotspur are well aware their need to win all their remaining games of the 2023/24 Premier League season if they aspire to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and beat Aston Villa for the fourth spot. Unfortunately, there has been concerning news on the January signing Timo Werner.

Tottenham Hotspur Rule Timo Werner Out For Rest Of The Season

Tottenham Poised To Decide On Werner’s Future

The German forward sustained an injury during the Lilywhites’ loss to Arsenal and he seems to have picked up a rather nasty knock that will not allow him to play any part in the final stretch of the 2023/24 season. Ange Postecoglou confirmed this at a recent press conference, revealing: “We’ve had a couple of injuries. Timo with his hamstring. With only two to three weeks or so left, he’ll miss the rest of the season.”

As a result of this, the RB Leipzig loanee will not get any more opportunities to improve his chances of convincing the team to turn his loan deal into permanent in the summer. Fabrizio Romano has given a new update on that front, claiming that the Tottenham hierarchy will make the decision of whether or not to exercise the option to buy Werner sometime later this month.

How Much Will The Werner Signing Cost Tottenham?

Fortunately for Tottenham, it actually won’t cost them that big of an amount to sign the versatile 28-year-old forward on a permanent basis. That is because Romano claims that the buy option clause on Werner’s loan contract allows them to sign him permanently for a fee of around £13.6 million if they want to do so.
